Process Automation uses a network of interconnected sensors, controllers, and operator terminals to automate a process

Historically most common in manufacturing environments, these systems can ‘see’ the product passing through the manufacturing process and depending on shape, colour or any other programmable feature the manufacturing machine will respond in a certain way.

The most recent developments in this field is Robotic Process Automation which allows the computer to learn from human behaviour and to repeat this on the computer system.
